Safety is one of our top priorites and ensuring the quality and reliability of our roof systems is why we are one of the worlds leading manufacturers of campervan roofs. With this in mind, we have put our main elevating roof frames through the rigorous STATUS (Specialist Transport Advisory & Testing Utility Society) testing process, using them in vehicles where significant sections of the original roof and strengthening structure have been removed to install the elevating roof. This confirm that our roof support framework safely maintains the structural integrity of the original roof.
When key parts of the original roof structure such as the B-pillar, the strengthening pillar that sits immediately behind the front seats, are cut or modified, then it is essential to confirm that the integrity of the surrounding structure is maintained. The seat belt anchorage tests, carried out with different versions of our roof frames, were used to confirm that our roof strengthening systems meet or exceed the minimum safety requirements.
The results show that our elevating roof frame maintains its integrity under simulated frontal impact conditions, giving you confidence that the roof structure remains safe and secure.
Test frame and bed in VW T5
This video shows an M1 seat belt anchorage test on a chassis with our steel roof strengthening frame in place being M1 pull tested on a Volkswagen T5/T6 at Manchester Metropolitan University. An M1 test applies forces similar to a severe frontal crash, demonstrating that our T5/T6 roof frame maintains the structural integrety of the vechicle under impact conditions.
This test applies to all H1-height Volkswagen SWB and LWB T5/T6 roof variants.
Test frame and bed in Mercedes Vito
This video shows an M1 seat belt anchorage test on a chassis with our steel roof strengthening frame in place being M1 pull tested on a Mercedes Vito at Manchester Metropolitan University. An M1 test applies forces similar to a severe frontal crash, demonstrating that the frame we use within Mercedes Vito conversions will remain structurally secure under impact conditions.
This test applies to all H1-height SWB, LWB and ELWB Mercedes Vito roofs.
Test frame and bed Renault Trafic/Vauxhall Vivaro/Nissan Primastar/Fiat Talento
This video shows an M1 seat belt anchorage test on a chassis with our steel roof strengthening frame in place being M1 pull tested within a Renault Traffic chassis. This chassis is also used within the Vauxhall Vivaro, Nissan Primastar, Fiat Talento and NV300. The test was conducted at Manchester Metropolitan University. An M1 test applies forces similar to a severe frontal crash, demonstrating that the frame we use within this chassis will remain structurally secure under impact conditions.
This test applies to all H1-height SWB, MWB and LWB vehicles that use the same Chassis as the Renault Traffic.
Test frame and bed Ford Transit Custom
This video shows an M1 seat belt anchorage test on a chassis with our steel roof strengthening frame in place being M1 pull tested on a Ford Transit Custom (2014-2022) at Manchester Metropolitan University. An M1 test applies forces similar to a severe frontal crash, demonstrating that our Ford Transit Custom (2014-2022) roof frame maintains the structural integrety of the vechicle under impact conditions.
This test applies to all H1-height SWB and LWB Ford Custom (2014 - 2022) roofs on our site.
